Ted Scott won the September handicap by nearly a minute.
But Chris Desmond still leads the series with only three races to go.
Andrew Hutchinson is one point behind and Jim Fitzmaurice another point behind in third.
The next race - over 7 miles - is on Sunday 15 October.
The details are here.
Keith Dowson was first M50, Nick Humphrey-Taylor third M40 and with Dan Witt they were second mens team at the Kent GP and Champs Coastal Marathon on 3rd September. Rob Carr joined them in the long race, while Anna Humphrey-Taylor was fourth W45 in the accompanying Half. Nick adds:
Some pics from yesterday’s quad bashing. 4 of us doing the Marathon and Anna did the half. A first for me starting at the front of the pack with Dan and Keith, but once the initial fast halfer’s had passed managed to settle into a comfortable pace. Quite a tough first half of the course - steady undulation, and a bit windy coming of the sea front, but in almost ideal temperature for me atleast. Mangaed to take out a few guys on the way round, but the field was well spread out where I was, until the last mile whaere I had enough to take out another couple. Well organised with many water stations and supportive marshalls (and public) to guide us through what is quite a twisty route coming off the front into residential areas at times. We got a whole lot of medals between us including second men’s team, which I thought was good going. I would definitely do this one again - it’s never going to be a PB course, but certainly a challenge, and for me a good way of seeing where I am ahead of Abingdon in 7 weeks.
