The provisional dates for the 2014 Kent Road GP races have been published by KCAA. They include the Harvel 5 on June 7th where 30 Sevenoaks AC members ran this year, with John Denyer, 762 above, 1st M60 and M65. The programme starts with the Dartford 10 on 19 January, followed by the Sidcup 10, also the County Championships, on 9th March. The full details are here.
Both the men and women of Sevenoaks AC were 12th (out of 32) in the Kent Road Race Grand Prix over 10 races throughout 2013. Top SAC performer was Sally Shewell who was 12th woman and 6th W45, while Sylvia Lewis also excelled as 7th W55 among the eight women who scored for the club. The women's best scores were achieved at the Darent Valley 10k (6th best score) and Tonbridge Half (4th). The top SAC men's performer was Chris Desmond, 31st and 13th M40, while Geoff Vine, 9th M60, was also prominent among the 21 SAC men's scorers. The best races for the men were the Tonbridge Half, where they were 3rd highest scorers, and the Paddock Wood Half (4th). The final results spreadsheet is here.
The Sevenoaks AC women finished eighth and the men fifteenth after the tenth and final race of the 2012 Kent Road Race Grand Prix, the Maidstone Half on 14 October. Seven women and fifteen men have scored for SAC at some level in the series with Sally Shewell our star performer in third place in the W45 category. Sally was also our best-placed woman in 16th overall. David Lee was our leading man in 70th. In other categories, Heather Fitzmaurice was our top W35 in 19th, 70-year-old Jim Fitzmaurice our top M60 in 13th, with Keith Brown our best M40 in 20th. Final spreadsheet is HERE.
The Sevenoaks AC women stay eighth and the men stay in fourteenth after the ninth race of the 2012 Kent Road Race Grand Prix, the Thanet Marathon on 2 September. Eight women and fifteen men have scored for SAC at some level in the series so far. Our star performer Sally Shewell is still in third place in the W45 category. The final race is the Maidstone Half on 14 October. Current spreadsheet is HERE.
The Sevenoaks AC women have moved up to eighth and the men stay in fourteenth after the eighth race of the 2012 Kent Road Race Grand Prix, the Dartford Half on 22 July. Six women and fifteen men have scored for SAC at some level in the series so far. Our star performer is still Sally Shewell, although she suffered a bout of asthma at Dartford, allowing a close rival to supplant her from second place in the W45 category. However, both have the same points with two races still to go. The next race is the Thanet Marathon on 2 September. Current spreadsheet is HERE.
