And from the first Shoreham Woods trail 10k on the previous day, Nicki Thompson submitted the following report:

As promised a bit of a race report from the first ever Shoreham 10k this morning. Nice early 9.30am start which I love on a Saturday. Very well marshalled with friendly volunteers. It was a challenging trail run but with some amazing views across the valley. It was a bit of a shock to the system after a summer of road running as the terrain was either rocky in places or muddy and so took a bit of getting used to. Some nice flat bits but a few of the downhills were almost too steep to go fast. Tough hills at 5km, 7km and at the finish which meant it is never going to be a pb course. Would definitely do it again. Heather came first in the ladies, not sure where Stu came yet but he did well and I managed third lady. Organised by PB Race Events and they were very good.
