Sevenoaks AC was represented in four of the junior races at the first Match of the Kent Cross Country League at Swanley Park on 12th October, including full teams in both the U13 boys and girls events. The U13 boys team of Ryan Alford-Smith (34th in 11:27), Andrew Simmons (38th in 11:34), James Beecroft (41st in 11:39), Frederick Naughton (49th in 12:13), William Hurst (56th in 13:19) and Harry Mitchell (57th in 13:20) finished 8th team, while the girls team of Alexia Scotiniadis (43rd in 12:52), Lucy Edwards (46th in 13:00) and Heidi Wilding (61st in 15:20) were 9th. And in the U15 girls race, Rhianna Munn was 42nd in 18:22 and Tamzin Moore 48th in 18:42, with Thomas Mitchell 45th in 16:09 and Alex Holden 66th in 19:33 in the boys race.
And at the second match at Somerhill on 26th October, SAC once again had full teams in both the under-13 boys and girls, with the boys 10th on the day and 7th in the standings and the girls 8th on the day and 8th in the standings. The individuals running in those races for Sevenoaks AC were Frederick Naughton 45th in 13:19, Edward Geeson 50th in 14:01, and William Hurst 57th in 15:40; Ella Baker 23rd in 12:43, Alexia Scotiniadis 37th in 13:31, and Lucy Edwards 47th in 14:18. One other junior athlete also competed, with Tom Gill 37th in the men's under-17 race in 25:18.

Some great performances this weekend at the Kent U13 Champs at Erith (Sept 14th-15th), writes Darrell Smith.
The weekend started well with a 6th place by Emily Holden in the Girls Shot Putt in a fine 7.14m, just outside her pb.
Alex Evans Wilson had a great Championships. In the space of an hour he placed 5th in the Long Jump with a pb of 4.09 and 8th in the Discus with a throw of 16.09m, also a pb.
Also in the Long Jump Kristian Elphick-Mutru placed 8th with a pb of 3.80 as well running 100m 14.87 in his 100m Heat. In the Boys 100m James Beecroft ran a pb in his heat running 12.9 later placing 5th in the 100m Final.
On the Sunday Maisy Aherne progressed to the Semi Final of the 75m running 11.04 in her heat and placing 8th in the Semi Final. In the High Jump Hannah Galligan jumped 1.30cm to place 5th in the Final.
These results are the best by the Club and mark the end of a great season.
On Friday 30th August, our U15 Girls 4 x 100m team were the lone representatives of the Club in the highest class track meet to occur in Kent in many years, writes coach Darrell Smith.
Our girls ran close to their Club record in 56.02 and placed 3rd against strong Tonbridge opposition. They were rewarded with medals given to them by Lizzy Yarnold.

Going into the last KYAL Meeting of the season in 2nd place all the team had to do was finish 5th team or better to stay in the top 2 teams to gain promotion to Division 1 next Summer, writes head coach Darrell Smith.
In the end we achieved it comfortably with a 4th place finish despite a very much depleted team due to holidays.
The top performers for the Club were Hannah Galligan U13 who equalled the Club record for High Jump with a leap of 1.35m, Jess Lewis ran a 45.7 300m and Poppy Buckle jumped 1.35m in the High Jump to break club records and Erin Vallance lowered her own 100m club record to 13.4. There were wins for Jess Lewis in the U15 Long Jump with a leap of 4.29m and Emily Holden with a throw of 18.03m in the Shot.
The Meeting finished with Relays and one final club record in the U15 4 x 100m (team pictured above).
Sevenoaks AC Juniors fielded its largest and strongest team to date at the first Kent Young Athlete League Match of the Summer, and were rewarded with a 2nd place team finish.
Six Club records were broken during the course of the day, two in the 4 x 100m Relay, the rest by Erin Vallance and James Beecroft who both broke the 100m and 200m records in their respective age groups
Head Coach, Darrell Smith commented. “It’s impossible to list all the great performances as everyone gave their all, even though for many this is their first season competing at this level. I feel we have a real chance of getting promotion to the next Division . I think we can do it. “
