Kent League XC at Somerhill Schools, Tonbridge - 24 October 2009 |
On Saturday 24th of October Sevenoaks AC had runners in most of the races in the second fixture in the 2009/2010 KCAA
Cross Country League. This was held in the ground of the Somerhill Schools in Tonbridge. Conditions were pretty good for
running despite rain the night before and on the morning of the event.
The best SAC performers were the under-15 boys, led by Dominic Brown in 7th place in 17:10. Brown was backed up by Mads
Kjaergaard 19th in 18:30, Jamie Monkhouse 23rd in 19:04, Miles Hawes 33rd in 20:12 and James Tatton 38th in 23:29. This
put the team in 5th place on the day and 3rd after two races.
SAC also fielded
a sprinkling of female athletes across the categories. Jenny Julian put in possibly the strongest performance,
finishing in 12th place in a time of 23:52 in a very high quality senior women's race. Megan Annetts also ran well in the under-15
girls race finishing 15th in 16:10. Emma Campbell was 17th in the under-17 girls in 23:22, while Emily Monkhouse, 31st in 14:15
and Georgina Tatton 34th in 14:40 ran well for us in the under-13 girls. |
