The final match of the 2010 SCVAC track and field series took place at Norman Park track, Bromley on 9 July, with Sevenoaks AC taking 2nd place in the match and securing 3rd place out of the 7 clubs in Division 2 for the overall series , writes Geoff Kitchener.

We had a full complement of 4 runners in the 800m races. Rob Carr posted the fastest time, 2 mins 32 secs, for 3rd place in the M35 A stream runners. John Denyer stepped down to the B stream of that age category from M60, winning that group with a fast 2 mins 40 secs. The 3rd place for the M50 group was secured by Jim Duffill and the 2nd place in the M60 category fell to Geoff Vine.

Other events included the discus, where we were represented by David Simpson, and long jump, in which Rob Carr and Geoffrey Kitchener competed, the latter winning the M60 competition with a club best performance of 3.94m. Both these last athletes also raced in the M35 100m sprints, as B and A streams respectively, both securing 3rd places with times of 16.0 and 13.5 seconds. The evening concluded with a medley relay, which fittingly gave the club 3rd position, the same as our overall series position.
