Sam Znetyniak won the second race of the 2025 Sevenoaks AC monthly handicap series getting close to her handicap over the hilly seven mile course despite stopping to help another runner who fell just ahead of her. Running well in the cold and wet conditions, Znetyniak, who was fastest woman on the day in 58:56, is preparing for a marathon in a couple of months and training is clearly going well.
Following up his win from the previous race with second place and fastest finisher on the day, Chris Desmond recorded 55:09 for the race as part of his morning's thirteen miles of training in preparation for three upcoming half-marathons over fifteen days.
Scoring for the series trophy is based on each runner's best four finishing positions over the series, so with a first and a second place in the first two races, Chris Desmond has made an excellent start.
The third race of the series is over the alternate five-mile distance. It starts from the Sevenoaks School track at 08:30 on Sunday 16th March.
