KCAA Sports Hall Competition and Championships

Lewis Church was a triple medallist at the KCAA Sports Hall Championships at Tonbridge on 13th December. In the under-13 boys section, Lewis gained first place in the Vertical Jump with a score of 54 for the Gold Medal and Silver Plate, first place in the Speed Bounce with 78, also for the Gold Medal and Silver plate, and second place in the Standing Triple Jump with 6.72 for the Silver Medal and Silver Plate.

In the under-13 girls section, Simone Baxter gained third place for the best 2 Laps event with 23.9 sec for the Bronze Medal. And Natasha Hawksworth gained third place for the best 6 Laps event with 91.5 sec for the Bronze Medal. 

Ellie Clinton age 12 and eleven-year-old Christelle Baxter have been competing at Sports Hall events for the past three years and are both at the younger end of their current under-13 age group, but they both gain consistently high scores. Ellie Clinton scored 60 at the Speed Bounce and 25.4 at the 2 Laps, while Christelle Baxter recorded 50 at the Vertical Jump and 24.8 at the 2 Laps.

SAC juniors also had some brilliant results at the first Sports Hall Competition on 1st November 09 in Folkestone, with all our competitors awaiting medals after a very successful day. 

Lewis Church had an amazing day with four first places, all personal bests, giving him overall first place in the under-13 boys section. Lewis won the Vertical Jump with 56, the Shot Putt with 7.15, the Standing Triple Jump with 6.59 and a fantastic Speed Bounce with 87. Lewis also had a 2nd Place for the 2 Lap event with 26.7, gaining a winning 741 points overall.

Not to be outdone, the SAC under-13 girls, Simone Baxter, Christelle Baxter and Ellie Clinton, were joined by Rhiannon Wallwork from Swale, to finish second team in their section with an overall points score of 24.29. SAC were most grateful to Rhiannon in her first ever competition, especially as she finished first individual U13 girl overall. Ellie speed-bounced to an amazing personal best score of 71 and Christelle ran 2 Laps in 26.9 nearly catching her older sister Simone.This is the first year competing in the under-13 age group for both Ellie and Christelle and both continue clock up lots of points and to run well indoors.

Simone Baxter gained individual second place for the Shot Putt with a personal best 6.66, and she was third in the 2 Lap event with another personal best of 26.4, gaining a total 656 points from all her events and third place overall.
